- All thru bore couplings have an inside relief so the shafts will not touch the beams at the maximum misalignment ratings. Their bores are shown in blue and white.
- All LIMITED BORE couplings of the same OD have the same ID which gives a uniform torque and torsional stiffness for all bore sizes. When they are in blue the shaft can only extend into an “E” depth. The torque and wind-up data is shown in blue.
- Any B1 may be combined with any B2. The smallest
B2 bores cannot be duplicated in the B1 column where they
are not already shown.
- Any B bore may be combined with any D serration.
- Static torque is the maximum torque rating for each B bore. The correct dynamic torque safety factor should be determined by the customer. Torque and torsional stiffness ratings are at maximum misalignment, not in a straight line.
- Mass and inertia are calculated with the customer’s required B bore and the smallest D serration shown.
- Set screws are 120° apart. All screws are hex socket steel with black oxide finish. The torques are the screw manufacturer’s maximum ratings. The shaft screw pulls the coupling’s serration onto the customer’s serrated shaft. Screws and washers are furnished.
- Shaft serration should be .25mm, .010 inch, shorter than “G” dimension for maximum torque. SAE J500 spec. furnished upon request.
- Coupling material is 2024-T3.51 QQA224/6 aluminum with MIL A8625 Type II black anodize.
- Clamp is an integral part of the coupling and cannot be removed.
